Data Exchange

Regional EMIS data collection and deep learning indicator estimation in active collaboration with government and civil society partners in the Philippines, Cambodia, and Nigeria โ€” extending school-level data coverage to contexts where existing systems fall short.

Three regional programs

Each regional program involves direct collaboration with national and sub-national education partners on data collection, validation, and capacity building.

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ
Philippines
In collaboration with DepEd & ANSA-EAP

School-level EMIS data from the Department of Education's BEIS system, with a focus on equity, WASH, and learning outcomes in Mindanao and the Bangsamoro region.

๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ญ
Cambodia
In collaboration with MoEYS & regional partners

Sub-national EMIS data collection with a focus on school infrastructure, teacher deployment, and enrollment across rural and peri-urban areas.

๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ
Nigeria
In collaboration with state-level MoEs

State-level school census data focusing on out-of-school children, gender parity, and resource gaps โ€” complementing national EMIS which has significant coverage limitations.

Two integrated components

01
Regional EMIS Data Collection

Direct partnership with national and sub-national education ministries and civil society organizations to collect, validate, and geocode school-level administrative census data beyond what is publicly available โ€” filling gaps in the OEDC dataset and enabling longitudinal analysis.

02
Deep Learning Indicator Estimation

Deep learning models trained on GEDEx partner data to estimate missing EMIS indicators โ€” enrollment, resources, outcomes โ€” in data-sparse schools and regions. Models use satellite imagery, spatial context, and auxiliary signals to generalize beyond the training regions.
